Donna stayed in the USA to further her knowledge in Big Cat health, neo-natal care, conditioning, training and handling along with  zoo management.  She was hired as the Park Manager and Lead big cat handler at Cattales Zoological Park and Training Centre.

When Donna eventually returned to Australia in 1999 she was hired as Senior carnivore keeper at Mogo Zoo and then went on to become Head Zoo Keeper. Donna eventually moved on to manage the Bullen's big cat and primate animal facility in Western Sydney and then in 2012 co-founded Zambi Wildlife Retreat on a large section of the 50 acre property.
